Launching a coin
What the form does, and what you are signing.
- 01Pick the channelPlatform and handle. The handle is normalised to lowercase — it is the coin's permanent address book entry.
- 02Name itA name and a ticker. If you don't upload a picture, your ticker is struck into a steel blank.
- 03Optionally buy firstA dev buy is included in the same transaction, so you buy before anyone else can.
- 04Sign onceOne transaction deploys the coin, sets its 2% creator tax, points both fees at the BitPad wallet, and records the channel.
One coin per channel
A channel can only be claimed once — the first coin to launch for it wins. A second launch for the same handle is refused by the registry, though the coin itself still exists on Pons; it simply isn't listed here and BitPad won't spend its fees.
What gets checked before listing
- —The transaction succeeded and went to Pons' factory or its launch router.
- —Its calldata carries our attribution codes, so the channel comes from the transaction itself rather than from the browser.
- —The coin's on-chain creator fee recipient is the BitPad wallet. If it isn't, the money would never arrive, and it is refused.
- —The coin's on-chain creator tax is 2%. A coin with the right recipient but a smaller tax would pay its channel less than every board here says it does, so it is refused too.
- —The coin is paired with ETH.
- —That channel doesn't already have a coin.
Costs
Pons charges its own launch fee, read live from the factory when you launch. We charge nothing to launch. The 2% tax on trading is not ours either — all 2.7% that reaches us is spent on the channel.
